Kinetic Event Poster is a motion asset created to turn static conference information into a high-engagement, loopable social media video. The goal was to make the poster feel alive while still keeping the event title, location, dates, pricing, and registration details readable.
The design was first structured in Adobe Illustrator. Before any animation could happen, the poster needed a clear hierarchy: large title typography for the main event, smaller metadata for supporting information, top and bottom ticker details, and fixed call-to-action information that gives the viewer somewhere stable to land.
The main visual device is the conveyor-belt ribbon system. Instead of placing text in normal horizontal blocks, the information sits on overlapping angled bands. This creates diagonal movement, depth, and the illusion that the poster is made from physical strips moving through the frame.
In Adobe After Effects, the flat Illustrator layout was animated into a continuous scrolling system. The ribbons move across independent diagonal paths, with opposing directions creating tension between the foreground and background layers. Shadow, overlap, and subtle depth treatment help the vector design feel less flat.
As a first attempt, this project taught me how important structure is in motion design. The animation only works because the poster was organised clearly first. The final result feels energetic, but the core event information still remains controlled and legible.
