All About Didi
Born in a small town in the North West—Itsoseng—and raised in 'Pitori', I’ve learned that from still roots grow bold branches. You could say my mind lives in both spaces. I'm a philosophy enthusiast; I love thinking deeply. We often bash overthinking, but honestly? She’s an underrated girlie.
I naturally gravitate toward intellectual challenges—but always tackle them my way: creatively. That’s why, while I’m passionate about visual design, I’m just as excited by software development. I thrive in roles that let me merge both sides of my brain—writing code that’s thoughtful and functional, and creating interfaces that are intuitive and impactful.
I’m not perfect—and I never aim to be. What I strive for is impact. I approach every challenge with ownership and a solutions-first mindset. Instead of getting stuck in the problem, I focus on the people it affects and find clear, human-centered ways forward. My work is guided by empathy, intention, and a bias toward action. I collaborate openly, iterate quickly, and keep my eye on the bigger picture. If I’m on the team, I’m all in.
They call me Star—not just because it’s a direct translation of my second name, but because I show up, stand out, and help others shine.
SWOT Analysis
Strengths
- I’m a creative through and through—it's not just how I work, it’s how I see the world. From the way I approach a brief to how I solve a problem, creativity is my first instinct.
- Communication is huge for me. I believe in asking questions, checking in, and making sure we’re on the same page—because I won’t know unless you tell me.
- When I start something, I finish it. No half-done work. If it has my name on it, it’s going to be seen through to the end— however long that may take.
- I move with intention. I’m not a fan of the phrase “I’m sorry, it wasn’t my intention”—because if that wasn’t the intention, then what was? I believe in showing up fully, mindfully, and responsibly.
- I care. About the work, the people involved, and the impact—nothing I do is just for the sake of doing.
Weaknesses
- I’m reserved. You might call it shy or quiet, but really, I’ve just trained myself to listen first. I only open up in spaces that feel safe and welcoming.
- Tunnel vision. My commitment to seeing things through can sometimes mean I get too locked in. It’s not that I don’t see the bigger picture—I just want to honour the details before I zoom out.
- Vulnerability hangover. Being intentional and reflective also means I sometimes carry the weight of moments longer than I should.
Opportunities
- I’m learning to be more outspoken—not just to speak, but to speak up. I’m naturally a yapper when I feel safe (just ask my friends), and I want to channel that voice into being an advocate, especially for those who don’t feel heard.
- I’m a recovering people-pleaser, which means there’s room (and willingness) to put boundaries in place and prioritize my own growth too.
- I'm becoming more comfortable being uncomfortable—saying “yes” to new spaces, new risks, and new roles where I don’t have it all figured out (yet).
- Building confidence in leadership: not just contributing to ideas, but guiding them. That’s the next leap I’m aiming for.
Threats
- Overthinking. It’s not a weakness per se, but if left unchecked, it tends to spiral into self-doubt or sabotage. I call it a beautifully dangerous thing—it pushes me to be thorough, but sometimes at the cost of peace of mind.
- Environments matter. I don’t thrive in places that are cold, competitive, or closed off. I do best where curiosity, collaboration, and respect are the baseline.
